Massage - An Act of Kindness

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." — Aesop.

The history of massage dates back over 5000 years where it began as a scared system of natural healing. Civilizations in the East & West found that massage could heal injuries, relieve pain, prevent and cure illnesses, as well as reduce stress and create deep relaxation.

Using touch as a healing method is part of the ancient practice of ayurveda. Ayurveda, often referred to as 'the sister science of yoga', is the traditional holistic medical system in India. It views that individuals incur illnesses and diseases when they live out of harmony with their environment.

Touch is the first sense to develop in humans. It is essential to our health and well-being. Many indigenous tribes use some form of bodywork to soothe, relax, and heal their infants or elders, sometimes including scented oils and herbal remedies. With our busy lives, we frequently find ourselves lacking in quality family time and touching each other less. The ancient practice of massage can reaffirm a close bond with our family, and convey a comforting sense of security and trust.

Massage is a simple/easy practice of self-care, but it is also an act of kindness to yourself and to others.

Take time to relax and enjoy.

Best,

Laura 🙏🏻
